Long ago, beneath the ancient mountain Chiitape (Catface Mountain), Hyupinulth, ancestor of Tyee Ḥaw̓iiḥ Ḿukʷina, gathered warriors from Waʔuus (Cypre River), a thriving village that once housed hundreds of families, and led a chant that would shape the future of the ʕaḥuusʔatḥ hawiih (Chiefs).
Today, from this sacred hahoulthee (territory), the ʕaḥuusʔatḥ continue their stewardship of the land, guided by renewal, responsibility and a vision for a thriving future.
More than a destination, Wahous Wilderness Lodge is a sanctuary of cultural preservation, sustainability and responsible tourism. In a secluded cove surrounded by towering forests, ocean air and abundant wildlife, nature and tradition exist in harmony.
